we knew nothing about Mount Rushmore prior to going there, except from what you see in this image, we had no idea it was illuminated at night, nor that they hold a seremony every night where they light the momument up, as we arrived quite late and they were about finished, the whole site is massive much more so than we had thought, when seeing the massive parking structure we thought we had taken a wrong turn somewhere.
